Overview

Digital Core Review and Configuration helps organisations get more from Microsoft 365, an ERP, a finance system or other software they already license. A fixed-price review of 2 to 3 weeks inventories your systems and puts a dollar figure on licence waste and re-keying. Configuration and automation follow in quoted blocks of 6 to 12 weeks, each measured against that baseline.

The problem

You pay for Microsoft 365, an ERP or a finance system and use a fraction of it. Staff re-key data and run approvals in email because nobody configured the system to do it.

What you get

  • An inventory of your systems with their owners, purpose, licence use and running cost
  • An interface map, and a register giving each type of record one home system
  • A needs map that places each need on the decision ladder of use, configure, extend, add or build
  • Blocks of configuration and automation work on the systems you already own

Methodology

The work follows one rule: get full value from the systems you already own before adding anything.

  1. Inventory every system with its owner, purpose, licence use and running cost.
  2. Map the interfaces between systems and give each record type one home system.
  3. Put a dollar figure on licence waste and the hours lost to re-keying, as the baseline.
  4. Choose the simplest option that meets each need: use what you own, configure it, extend it, add a tool or build one.
  5. Configure in blocks. Connect systems so staff stop re-keying, and move approvals, forms, roles and reports into each system's own workflow. Power Automate, Power Apps and Power Query handle small automations along the way.
  6. Measure the baseline again after each block, so the saving is reported in dollars.

This pathway often closes gaps without any new software.

Cost and timing

How it is bought

The review is a fixed price. It costs less when it follows a paid assessment, because the assessment's stocktake already covers the system inventory, and its fee is credited against the first configuration block if that block starts within 90 days. Configuration is quoted per block.

How long it takes
Review 2 to 3 weeks. Each configuration block 6 to 12 weeks.
Your team's time
System owners for about 2 hours each during the review, then a system administrator working alongside us 1 day a week during each block.
