Data Foundations and Platforms
Give each record one home, agree what your data means and join it up for reporting and AI.
Quoted per stage, 6 to 12 weeks.
Discuss Data Foundations and PlatformsOverview
Data Foundations and Platforms is for organisations whose systems do not connect and whose reports disagree. DMS traces the data behind two or three priority decisions, fixes it at the source and builds the foundations on your existing cloud where it fits, such as Azure, Fabric, Postgres or SQL Server. Work is quoted per stage of 6 to 12 weeks, and every stage hands over core reports that agree.
The problem
Your core systems were bought one at a time and do not connect. The same record lives in four places, reports disagree, and meetings debate the numbers instead of the decision.
What you get
- Named owners and agreed definitions for the critical data in scope
- One home system for each record, with maintained integrations
- A data warehouse or data platform that joins the data up for reporting, forecasting and AI
- Quality checks and operating guidance
Methodology
We build data foundations in small stages, each supporting a few real decisions, so you can review a useful result before continuing.
- Pick two or three priority decisions the business struggles to make with its current data.
- Trace the data behind them from capture to report, and find where it breaks.
- Give each critical record one home system, a named owner and an agreed definition.
- Fix causes at the source, and document any interim workaround.
- Build the agreed foundations on the platform, using your existing cloud and tools where they fit (Azure, Fabric, Postgres, SQL Server), with quality checks running from the start.
- Hand over the working data and reports with operating guidance, then choose the next set of decisions.
Each stage ends with core reports that agree, so you review a working result before committing to the next.
